Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Irish Step, Modern, Pilates and Music’n Motion.

We offer quality classes, with personal attention given to all students and an emphasis on body placement and technique. The joy of dancing is for professionals and amateurs alike. The discipline, grace, coordination, and feeling of accomplishment benefit the body and the mind of students of all ages—the self-confidence acquired lasts a lifetime.

Students are placed in classes according to their ability, age, attitude, and achievement. We use a graded system of body placement and technique that monitors progress properly. Students are advanced as their progress requires and are not held back because of age or size. The student unable to keep up with the class will be reassigned to a more suitable class for their ability. Class length increases as a student’s age, interest, vocabulary, and ability develop.

Students are expected to come to class prepared to dance. This means dressing appropriately in their black leotard, proper tights, and correct shoes. A students hair must be pulled back into a neat and secure bun. An unprepared Student is considered to disrespect the teacher, the art, and the rest of the class. Correct dance attire and grooming are as much a part of dance education as learning the steps and techniques. The dress code will be strictly enforced. The dance center holds the right not to allow students to enter class if he or she is not correctly attired from head to toe. (see New Season information for our dress code)

A a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with fluid acrobatic movements. It is very physically demanding and requires strength, control and flexibility. It is important to note that Acro-Dance is not the same as Gymnastics and there is a need to teach Acro skills differently than Gymnastic skills. Dance training is essential for Acro-Dance. In Gymnastics training, dance is secondary but in Acro-Dance, skills are expected to seamlessly be incorporated in dance. That is why we require that students take either Ballet, Jazz in addition to Acro-Dance. We include turns, jumps and leaps and mainly contemporary technique in Acro-Dance. This style is performed on a hard floor without mats (we use mats in training for skills to be done without) Advance acro students are required to be taking dance classes as well. *Acro students are required to be enrolled in a dance class.

Lyrical dance is a style that combines ballet and jazz dancing techniques. It is performed to music with lyrics so that it inspires expression of strong emotions the choreographer feels from the lyrics of the song. This style concentrates on an individual approach and expressiveness of such emotions as love, joy, hurt, or anger. It does not concentrate on the dancer’s precision of movement. *Dancers are required to be enrolled in Ballet to take this class.
